Resource Materials and Education

For an annual membership fee of $5, members of the public have borrowing privileges to more than 100 barrier-free and Universal Design resources. Examples include: Building for a Lifetime, Gracious spaces, Universal Interiors, and Universal Kitchen and Bathroom Planning.

Education Opportunities

Accessible Housing Society is a leader in the area of accessibility. With more than 30 years of experience in housing for persons with mobility issues, we are able to act as a resource to the community on design modification of residential accommodations.

Individuals or organizations wishing to learn more about barrier-free and/or universal design are invited to contact AHS for an educational opportunity to meet your needs. Examples include in-services on modifying a particular part of the home, like an entrance, or about our services in general. Other topics may include accessible/affordable housing policy development and regulatory considerations; the future of accessible/affordable housing in Calgary; and access to housing – an integrated/holistic approach.

We are able to travel to your location or can host groups in our office.
